T-Mobile customers won't be charged extra for using phones in Canada and Mexico anymore

Continuing its radical Uncarrier Amped strategy, T-Mobile announced on Thursday that it is extending service to Canada and Mexico for all of its U.S. customers at no extra charge.

Starting on July 15, T-Mobile Simple Choice customers will no longer have to pay extra to make calls, text and use 4G LTE data when traveling across North America.

"I hate limits," T-Mobile CEO John Legere says in a video posted to YouTube. "I hate most rules. I hate barriers, borders and restrictions of all kinds. That's why I love taking on the big wireless carriers, because they're famous for hidden rules and for finding more ways to put more barriers, borders and limits around what their customers can and can't do."
