'Ocean's Eleven' producer Jerry Weintraub dies at 77

Producer and three-time Emmy winner Jerry Weintraub, best known for his work on The Karate Kid and Ocean's Eleven, has died at 77, according to multiple reports. He died at 77 in Santa Barbara, California, his representatives told The Associated Press.

Before his success as a producer for film and television, Weintraub was a music management talent agent who started out at MCA Records and went on to work with music hitmakers, including Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton.

After segueing into film production with Robert Altman's musical, Nashville, Weintraub set his sights on the motion picture industry, and briefly served as CEO of United Artists before launching his own company, Jerry Weintraub Productions. Read more...
